Steven C. Herman

Pastor

Pastor Herman graduated from Absegami High School (NJ), Nazarene Bible College (CO), Eastern Baptist Seminary (PA), and Trinity Seminary (IN) where he earned his Doctorate of Ministry in Biblical Studies.

Since being ordained, Steve served as pastor of the North Wildwood United Methodist Church for 15 years, and has been here at the Richwood UMC since 1999. In addition, he served as a Chaplain in the New Jersey Army National Guard from 1991 - 2016.

He and his wife Mildred were married in Cape May in 1988 and have three grown children: Rachel (who lives and works in Philadelphia), Tim (a graduate of the University of Advancing Technology who lives and works in the area), and Sarah (a graduate of Eastern University who works in Ardmore, PA).

Mildred Herman

Administrative Assistant/Music Director/Youth Director

Mildred graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School (NJ) and The King’s College (NY), where she earned a BS in Music Education with an emphasis in piano. She taught in both public and Christian schools before marrying Steve and raising children.

Mildred wears many hats around here. As the Administrative Assistant, she does the office work (bulletins, newsletters, emails, etc.) and keeps the church’s calendar. As the Music Director, she makes all the arrangements for the special music in our worship services, as well as playing the piano or the organ. As Youth Director, she organizes our MYF program.

She also teaches private piano lessons and accompanies at Gloucester County Christian School. In any spare time, Mildred enjoys reading, scrapbooking and crafts like crocheting and cross stitch.

Jim Stiles

Praise Band Leader

Jim oversees our Praise Band, organizing their music and rehearsals, as well as being responsible for any outside bookings. He is also the church’s Audio/Visual technician and Softball team coach.

A graduate of Clearview Regional High School and Drexel University School of Electrical Engineering, Jim works as an electronics engineer for the Department of the Navy, supporting the development and deployment of the Submarine Antenna communication systems.

He and his wife Tammie, live in Mullica Hill with their two boys, Alex and Jake. It is no surprise that he lists music, woodworking and audio/visual technologies as his hobbies.

Gillian Bruno

Sunday School Superintendent

Gill Bruno is a graduate of Clearview Regional High School (2004) and Bucknell University (2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering). She currently works at JMT, Inc. in Newark, Delaware, as a Traffic Engineer. She and Joe were married in this church in 2009, live in Swedesboro and recently welcomed their first child. She remains close to her father who lives nearby in Ewan. She enjoys watching movies, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.  Gill has been running our Sunday School since 2010.
