Family Night: Once a month during the school year, we plan a church-wide dinner and program we call Family Night. Everyone is invited! Tonight’s dinner (which starts at 5:00) will be soup, salads, sandwiches and dessert; just bring something to share with others. After the meal, we will have a demonstration from the Gloucester County K-9 program. Sheriff’s Officer Chad Bittle will bring his K-9 dog for an educational awareness demonstration. Their department is run on donations and tee-shirt sales, so a love offering will be received for them.
Leadership Dinner: All those in church leadership and Sunday School teachers and their spouse or guest are invited to our annual Leadership Dinner, to be held tomorrow at the Hall at 6:00 p.m. Cost will be $12 per person for the three course meal (salad; chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans; dessert), payable that night. If you didn’t sign up but want to come, please see the pastor or Mildred today.
Midweek Bible Study resumes this week! Anyone interested is welcome to attend. The group gathers at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays in the Conference Room in the Hall. We will begin an 11-week study entitled “Galatians: Why God Accepts Us.”
Men’s Breakfast: Any interested men are welcome to join this group on Saturday, January 27th, at 8:00 a.m. They will be meeting at the Harrison House in Mullica Hill.
Souper Bowl of Caring: Since 1990, young people have been leading the charge and inspiring others to collect dollars and food in the weeks leading up to the Big Game. Teaming up with local partners, these groups give 100% of donations to local charities, changing the nation's largest weekend of football into the largest weekend of caring. The MYF will be collecting money and canned goods on Sunday, February 4th. All donations will go directly to Peter’s Pantry to help the needy in our own community. Our church has participated since 2001, and we have raised nearly $5,000 in cash and food for Peter’s Pantry through this effort.
30-Hour Famine: MYF members will again be participating in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine, to be held on February 23rd – 24th. There are lots of ways you can be involved:
~~ Sponsor one of our kids. They go 30 hours without eating to raise money to help feed the hungry of the world.
~~ Participate in the 100-Envelope Fund Raiser. Take an envelope from the wall in the Coffee Room and fill it with the same number of dollars as the number on the envelope. Directions are in each envelope, and all funds need to be returned by February 18th.
~~ Bring in cardboard boxes or empty paper towel rolls. We need them for a project during Famine weekend. Put them in the old nursery (the first room on the right).
~~ Join us in fasting that weekend. Raise awareness in your family for the needs around the world.
     ~~ Pray for us!
ShopRite cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost.
Thank You to everyone who provided lunches for yesterday’s Kids Alley program. They appreciate those who brought provisions and those who put the meals together.
Ushers for 2018: If you would be willing to serve as an usher at either the 8:30 or 10:00 service, please sign up in the Narthex. If you can’t serve for the whole month, just indicate what weeks you are available.
Flowers: If you would like to put flowers in church on a Sunday morning, please sign up on the calendar by the front door. It is then your responsibility to arrange for the flowers. Options include:
~ Purchasing, arranging and delivering them yourself.
~ Ordering flowers from a florist of your choice and making the necessary arrangements to have them delivered. Cost will vary.
Coffee Hour: A sign-up sheet has been posted in the Coffee Room for anyone willing to provide additional food for our Coffee Hour each Sunday. See Dot Reuter if you have questions.
