Gift Cards: If you are planning on buying gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, or End-of-the-Year Gifts for teachers, etc., why not get gift cards? Or if you know you’ll be shopping or eating out soon, use a gift card for your purchase and help the church! A percentage of every order is donated to the church. Order forms are in the Narthex. All orders with payment are due back to Amy Reuter TODAY. Gift cards will be back in early May.
Earth Day: Yesterday was Earth Day. The enclosed bulletin inserts include ways to be better stewards of nature.
Church Photo Directories are in! If your family had portraits taken, there is a directory with your name on it on the organ. Please pick it up today!
MYF: There are only four more Sunday night Bible studies left this year! Please encourage your 7th – 12th grader to attend. Current 6th graders are invited to the last two meetings: May 7th and 14th.
Softball Season has begun. Our first game was well-attended by players and fans, but was a loss. This Tuesday, our game is against True North Church at the Mantua Little League Field, 405 Main Street, Sewell. Schedules and updates will be posted on the church’s web site.  Contact Jim Stiles (625-1137 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) if you have questions.
Men’s Breakfast: All men are invited to join this group once a month for a great breakfast, prepared by Chef Ed Human, and a short devotional. Come on Saturday, April 29th, at 8:00 a.m. Contact Ed ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) if you would like to help cook this month.
Choir Notes: The choir will continue Wednesday night rehearsals through May. We are practicing music to sing now and through the summer. We are looking for new members (especially sopranos). See Mildred if you have questions, but anyone interested is welcome!
Prayer Boxes: Andrea Weaver is starting a prayer ministry for those outside of our church who may not have a support group they can go to when in need of prayer. She wants to place a few small boxes in some local businesses in which people can place prayer requests. She is looking for two things:
~~ A few people to volunteer to leave a prayer box at their business. Each week, you would need to bring any requests you receive back to church and put them in the box in the Coffee Room.
~~ A few people willing to pray for these requests. Andrea will send a weekly email to you with the requests.
Please contact Andrea at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to be a part of this ministry. State if you are willing to take a prayer box, be part of the prayer chain or both.
The Pastor and Mildred will be away from May 1st – 5th. If you have an emergency and need a pastor, please call Rev. Paul Amey from the Clayton UMC at 340-6052.
Breakfast Buffet: On May 6th, the LIFE Class will sponsor a Breakfast Buffet as a fund raiser for the missions they support. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children (ages 5 – 12). The group would love to serve 120 people! You can help by buying tickets and joining us that morning, and inviting your friends and neighbors. The all-you-can-eat meal will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits, potatoes, sticky buns, and beverage. It will be served from 7:30 – 10:30.
Trip to Lancaster: Our Wednesday Bible Study group will be going to Hershey Farms in Lancaster on Tuesday, June 6th. We will meet at the Hall at 10:00 a.m. The buffet luncheon will start at 12:30, followed by a 90-minute comedy show at 2:30. Total cost for the meal and show is $41 per person, due by Sunday, May 17th. Please inform the pastor if you would like to join the group for this trip.
Chicken Pot Pie Dinner: We are looking for someone (or a team of someones) to take over this event in the Fall. Laura and Dot are willing to work with you to make the transition a smooth one. Please consider this and volunteer if the Lord lays it on your heart!
ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.
Since we started with this program in 2002, we have sold over $800,000 in ShopRite cards, earning a profit of over $40,000 for the church! Let’s get more families involved and March to a Million!
Vacation Bible School will be held this summer from July 16th – 20th. Our program will again be held from 5:45 – 8:00 p.m. each evening. This year’s theme is “Maker Fun Factory.” Kids will become hands-on inventors who discover that they’re lovingly crafted by God. All children age 3 through 6th grade are welcome. You are invited to register your child(ren) online at www.myvbs.org/RUMC2. If you would like to help, have any questions, or would rather register by phone, please contact Kelly Clement (609-980-1865) or Alyssa Saccomanno (856-631-9354).
