Missions Committee will meet next Monday, September 18th, at 6:45 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Hall. Anyone interested in working with them is welcome to attend. There are lots of things on the agenda for the meeting – lots of ways to get involved.

Church Council will meet next Tuesday, September 19th. After taking the summer off, there is much to do in preparation for Church Conference! Council members are: Ken and Suzanne Aumack, Don Brecht, Carol Brozosky, Gillian Bruno, Robin DeGirolamo, Gregg Ferguson, Betsy Fox, Heather Freeman, Michele Giaquinto, Mildred Herman, Ed Human, Donna Kavlunas, Dave Luttenberger, Eleanor Madara, Bunnie Powell, Matt Sandy, Rosemary Stewart, Doug and Wendy Webb, and Geoff Young.

Chime Choir Rehearsals resume this Wednesday from 6:15 – 6:45 p.m. Members are: Cole Afflerbach, Rhianna DuBeau, Dolores Ewan, Michele Giaquinto, Terry Klodnicki, Karen Owens, Dave Price, Cole Valente, Wendy Webb, Hope Welch and Amey Woolam.

Hurricane Relief: There are lots of ways to help those who have been devastated from recent hurricanes:
~~ The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is receiving donations for disaster relief. If you would like to contribute, please make your check out to RUMC, but clearly mark it for UMCOR Hurricane Relief.
~~ You can also donate directly online at www.umcor.org or another reputable charity (World Vision, Compassion and the Red Cross are also on the ground).
~~ We are filling flood buckets that will be sent to disaster locations. Please sign up in the front of the sanctuary for any items you can bring in. We are filling more than five buckets, so extra donations are welcome.

MYF Day of Service: The youth group is volunteering service hours on Monday, October 9th (Columbus Day). We’ll be glad to help if you have yard work needs, can use a babysitter for a couple of hours that day, need your dog or car washed, need help cleaning out a basement, need grocery shopping or cooking done for you, know someone in a nearby nursing home that would love a visit, would like tutoring on using your computer, or just want someone to play cards with. We’ll match up the available kids and make arrangements with you. The kids will not be accepting payments or tips for their service.

Chicken Pot Pie Dinner: Our next Pot Pie Dinner is right around the corner! It will be held on Saturday, October 14th, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Homemade chicken pot pie (both old-fashioned with noodles and crusted), sides, salad, dessert and beverage are included. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children (ages 5 – 12). Here’s how you can help:
~~ Sell tickets! Take a packet of 10 tickets and invite your friends and neighbors. Some tickets will be available at the door, but this event has sold out in the past.
~~ Bake a dessert. A sign-up sheet has been posted in the Narthex for those willing to help (about 30 cakes or pies will be needed).
~~ Lots of help will be needed to make this dinner possible. There will be many jobs during the week before the dinner, as well as preparations to make before that. Some of our usual helpers will be away this year, so others need to step up and volunteer! See Laura Cunard ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 609-617-0978).

Fall Membership: Church membership classes will be held on two Sundays, October 8th and 15th, and Membership Sunday will be October 22nd. If you are interested in joining the church, please see the pastor.

Looking ahead: Mark your calendar for these coming events.
~~ Sunday School Hayride: Sunday, October 15th, 1:00 p.m. Heritage Station is again offering hayrides and pumpkin picking. All Sunday School children and their families are welcome.
~~ Family Night: Our first dinner and program of the season will be held on Sunday, October 22nd. The covered dish dinner starts at 5:00, and the program follows at 6:00. Brian Richards will entertain and amaze us. His show features magic, juggling, puppets, and lots of audience participation. Everyone is welcome.

ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.
