MYF Rock Climbing: This afternoon, the youth group will be going to Elite Climbing in Maple Shade for rock climbing.  We’ll meet at the Hall at 1:45 and will be back around 5:30 – 6:00.  Cost is $20 per person (maybe less depending on how many people go….) but EVERYONE (including adults who are not climbing) must fill out a waiver first.  Go to http://www.eliteclimbing.com/climbing-waiver/, fill it out and submit. Please let Mildred know if you are planning to go with the group.
PPRC Meeting: This group will meet tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Hall. Members are: Ken Aumack, Jim Bland, Ray DeLuca, Marianne Diekewicz, Heather Freeman, Michele Giaquinto, Jessica Human, Bob Millard, Holly Stewart, Hope Welch and Kevin Zook.
New Members Reception: Everyone is welcome to greet our newest church members during next Sunday’s Coffee Hour.
Music Ministry Picnic: All choir members, members of the praise band, and members of the chime choir and their families are invited to the parsonage (121 Richwood Road) on Wednesday, August 30th, for the annual Music Ministry Picnic. Come around 5:00 p.m. Please sign up with Mildred so she knows how many from your family will be coming and what you will bring for supper.
Open Air Market: The 20th Annual Open Air Market will be held on Saturday, September 9th, from 8:00 – 12:00 noon. There will be lots of yard sale tables, games, and a bake table, as well as vendors selling a variety of things. Breakfast items (donuts and bagels) and lunch (hot dogs and meatball sandwiches) will be for sale too. It’s a fun day for everyone, so be sure to join us!
We are looking for new gift items, glassware, jewelry, games and toys, linens, books and CDs to sell at the Yard Sale tables. Please do not bring large appliances, large furniture, used stuffed animals, clothing or shoes. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church and put them downstairs in the old youth room on the floor. The basement door will be unlocked every day from dawn to dusk. The deadline for dropping off items will be Wednesday, September 6th, at 8:00 p.m.
Items will also be needed for the Bake Sale table. Plan to make something and drop it off that morning.
Anyone interested in renting a space to set up a vendor table should contact Michele Giaquinto (981-9437) as soon as possible. Cost is $20 per space.
All proceeds benefit the church. Your help is needed! All kinds of jobs will be available on Saturday (starting at 6:00 a.m.), so plan to come out and help. Contact Sylvia Reed (478-2728).
More Collections:
~~ A bin in the Narthex is for the following new items for homeless men: socks, underwear and undershirts (sizes M to 2X).  Next Sunday is the deadline for bringing these in.
~~ New or gently used athletic shoes will find a good home if you place them in the large box in the Narthex. When the box is full, it will be shipped to WaterStep, an organization that uses the proceeds to provide safe drinking water to communities that need it.
ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.
Ushers Needed: If you are willing to collect the offering for either service, please sign up in the Narthex. If you can’t do the whole month, just write in the dates you are available.
