This fund helps bridge the gap between what it costs to live in a Methodist Home and what the residents can actually pay.
Softball Season is underway. All games are played on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to come cheer on our team. After last week’s tough loss, our record evens to 3 - 3. This week’s game is away against Olivet/Calvary Hill at Parvin State Park Field #1. Schedules and updates are posted on the church’s web site.  Contact Jim Stiles (625-1137 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank You to the MYF for leading the services last Sunday. We appreciate your time and talents!
Photo Directory: If you did not get a copy of the latest Photo Directory and would like one, please see Mildred. There are extra copies available.
Vacation Bible School will be held this summer from July 16th – 20th. Our program will again be held from 5:45 – 8:00 p.m. each evening. This year’s theme is “Maker Fun Factory.” Kids will become hands-on inventors who discover that they’re lovingly crafted by God. All children age 3 through 6th grade are welcome. You are invited to register your child(ren) online at www.myvbs.org/RUMC2. There are also invitations and registration forms available in the Narthex. If you would like to help, have any questions, or would rather register by phone, please contact Kelly Clement (609-980-1865) or Alyssa Saccomanno (856-631-9354).
Dinners will be served each night (except Wednesday) before VBS. If you can help by providing a dish or by serving one night, please see Mildred to volunteer.
Spirit Night: Mark your calendar: on Wednesday, July 19th, everyone is invited to get their dinner at the Chick-fil-A (621 Woodbury Glassboro Road, Sewell). Mention that you are there to support Richwood’s VBS program, and 15% of your meal’s cost will be returned to us! Come any time from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Spread the word so we have a great turn-out that night!
Church Membership: We traditionally offer Membership Classes in the spring and fall. However, we are adding Summer Membership this year. Two classes will be held on Sundays at 11:15, August 13th and 20th, with Membership Sunday on August 27th. Please let the pastor know if you would like to join the church.
ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.
Save Your Bags: Our Knit & Crochet Ministry is now making bed mats out of plastic shopping bags. Please fold them neatly as you save them. The ladies will be glad to teach anyone how to cut them if you are interested in helping! This group now meets every Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Youth Room at the Hall. Anyone is welcome.
Benefit Dinner: Ron Lovett (bass player in our band) is battling cancer again. A benefit dinner has been scheduled to help him with the medical costs involved. It will be held on Saturday, July 15th, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Woodstown Moose Lodge, 13 Bypass Road, Woodstown. Dinner and music are planned, along with a basket auction. If you can help by providing a dessert, please sign up in the Narthex. Tickets are $20 per person. See Jeff or Lyn Zanow, or call 856-624-4109. We would love to sell-out this event; please join us!
Peach Festival will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Lots of help will be needed!   We are also planning a basket auction as part of this event. If you can donate something or would be willing to help collect baskets, see Jerry or Carol McGrath (609-502-1596).
Chicken Pot Pie Dinner: Our fall Pot Pie Dinner has been scheduled for October 14th. We are looking for a team willing to work with Laura Cunard to make this happen. We want to break the jobs down into manageable chunks so they don’t all fall on one or two people. If you can order supplies, follow up on donations, supervise the chicken picking, set up tables and chairs, organize the assembly of the pies, etc., please volunteer! A group of four or five leaders will help this event flow smoothly and take some of the burden from Laura.
Prayer Boxes: Andrea Weaver is starting a prayer ministry for those outside of our church who may not have a support group they can go to when in need of prayer. She wants to place a few small boxes in some local businesses in which people can place prayer requests. If you can help, please contact Andrea at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . She has now placed four boxes in three local counties and would love to put a few more out!
Pulpit Area Chairs Memorial: Our pulpit area chairs are original 1800s Victorian chairs. They are being refurbished as a memorial. The cost for this is as follows:
Large chair - $700                             Two side chairs - $550 each
Two smaller chairs - $525 each          Fabric for all chairs - $540
Anyone wanting to give to this project (for all or part of a chair) should please clearly mark your check “Pulpit Chairs Memorial,” and please indicate the name of your loved one that you want recognized.
