VBS Planning Meeting: Anyone interested in helping with this summer’s Vacation Bible School program is invited to a planning meeting today at 11:15 a.m. in the back left Sunday School classroom.
VBS will be held this summer from July 16th – 20th. Our program will again be held from 5:45 – 8:00 p.m. each evening. This year’s theme is “Maker Fun Factory.” Kids will become hands-on inventors who discover that they’re lovingly crafted by God. All children age 3 through 6th grade are welcome. You are invited to register your child(ren) online at www.myvbs.org/RUMC2. If you would like to help, have any questions, or would rather register by phone, please contact Kelly Clement (609-980-1865) or Alyssa Saccomanno (856-631-9354).
Annual Conference: The Greater New Jersey Annual Conference will be held in Wildwood today through Tuesday. Business sessions, worship meetings, reflections from the retirees, and the ordination service are all scheduled.   Be in prayer for the conference and for those going; Pastor Herman and Michele Giaquinto are our delegates.
Family Night: Our last Family Night program of the season will be held tonight. The covered dish dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. (just bring something to share) and the program will follow at 6:00. Sanctified, our praise band, will be in concert. They are working on a diverse program sure to please everyone. There is no charge and EVERYONE is welcome!
Opportunities: We are looking for a few volunteers to help in our children’s program. If you would consider teaching Sunday School once a month, please see Gillian Bruno ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). If you are available to help in the Nursery every six weeks or so, please see Kelly Clement ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). These are both great opportunities to invest in the lives of our children!
Softball Season is underway. All games are played on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to come cheer on our team. Our record stands at 2 - 1. This week’s game is home (Clearview’s JV Field across from CVS) against Cumberland County Community Church. Schedules and updates are posted on the church’s web site.  Contact Jim Stiles (625-1137 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) if you have questions.
Memorial Day Service: A brief service will be held on Monday, May 29th, at 10:00 a.m. at the circle in the cemetery. We will remember those who gave their lives for our country. Everyone is welcome!
Thank You to Melissa Bittle for bringing last week’s Mother’s Day message. We all appreciated hearing her story.
Zee Scholarships: Applications are available in the Narthex or the Hall entry for the Elsie S. Zee Scholarship, granted each year to college students. Any graduating senior (applicants must have been a church member here for at least six months) who will be attending college or a college student continuing their education can apply. The scholarship can be renewed for four years, but the applicant must re-apply each year. Applications must be given to the pastor by May 31st. All awards will be given in the form of a Barnes and Nobel gift card.
LIFE Class: All women are invited to join this group for their last meeting of the season. They will gather at the Telford Inn (145 Bridgeton Pike, Mantua) for dinner and a brief business meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th. Please let Bunnie Powell (256-8611) know by Sunday, June 4th, if you plan to join them.
Benefit Dinner: Ron Lovett (bass player in our band) is battling cancer again. A benefit dinner has been scheduled to help him with the medical costs involved. It will be held on Saturday, July 15th, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Woodstown Moose Lodge, 13 Bypass Road, Woodstown. Dinner and music are planned, along with a basket auction. Tickets are $20 per person. See Jeff or Lyn Zanow, or call 856-624-4109.
ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.
Save Your Bags: Our Knit & Crochet Ministry is now making bed mats out of plastic shopping bags. Please fold them neatly as you save them. The ladies will be glad to teach anyone how to cut them if you are interested in helping! This group now meets every Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Youth Room at the Hall. Anyone is welcome.
Chicken Pot Pie Dinner: Our fall Pot Pie Dinner has been scheduled for Saturday, October 14th. We are looking for a team willing to work with Laura Cunard to make this happen. We want to break the jobs down into manageable chunks so they don’t all fall on one or two people. If you can order supplies, follow up on donations, supervise the chicken picking, set up tables and chairs, organize the assembly of the pies, etc., please volunteer! A group of four or five leaders will help this event flow smoothly and take some of the burden from Laura.
Prayer Boxes: Andrea Weaver is starting a prayer ministry for those outside of our church who may not have a support group they can go to when in need of prayer. She wants to place a few small boxes in some local businesses in which people can place prayer requests. If you can help, please contact Andrea at This email address is being protected from spambots.
